PREAMBLE
We the members of the York Technical College Dragon's Fang Anime Club hereby associate ourselves to specialize in the sudy, appreciation, and production of Japanese animation and manga as of January 5, 2005.
ARTICLE I--NAME
The name of this organization shall be the Dragon's Fang Animé Club.
ARTICLE II--QUALIFICATION OF OFFICERS
Regularly enrolled students at York Technical College who have been members of the Dragon's Fang Animé Club for at least one semester are eligible to hold office. (effective one semester after club is formed)
ARTICLE III--ELECTION
Elections will be held on the first two days of each semester. Voting shall be by secret ballot; a plurality vote shall constitute the choice.
Section 1. The term of office shall be one semester.
Section 2. Nominations shall take place on the first Monday of each semester.
Section 3. Votes shall be counted by the Club President.
Section 4. Installation of new officers shall take place on the first Wednesday of the semester.
ARTICLE IV--DUTIES OF OFFICERS
Section 1. The President shall preside over all meetings and be the official representative of the club. This person shall also create activities set at a time, date, and place comfortable to each member, as well as count all the votes for new officers.
Section 2. The Vice-President shall preside at all meetings in the absence of the President, be ex-officio member of all committees, and perform all duties of the President in the President's absence.
Section 3. The duties of the Treasurer shall be to collect dues and keep books, make expenditures, and render regular reports on request. This person also acts as secretary by keeping records, maintaining the membership roster, taking roll call, and handling correspondence.
ARTICLE V--MEMBERSHIP
Section 1. All regularly enrolled students at York Technical College who have an interest in Japanese animation--however slight--are eligible. No experience is necessary.
Section 2. To be considered amember in good standing, a member must be currently enrolled and have a "C" average or higher.
ARTICLE VI--CLUB ADVISOR
The group shall have a regular faculty or staff advisor who will attend meetings and advise the club.
ARTICLE VII--MEETINGS AND DUES
Section 1. Meetings shall be held regularly at a time specified by the organization at the opening of a meeting each semester.
Section 2. Dues in the amount of $5.00 shall be collected from each regular member each semester (effective after the club has been formed)
ARTICLE VIII--ROBERT'S RULES OF ORDER
Robert's Rules of Order shall be used as a guide by the presiding officer in all situations not covered by the provisions of this constitution.
ARTICLE IX--AMENDMENTS
Amendments to this constitution shall be submitted to the presiding officer in writing or via e-mail for submission to the members for a vote. A one-half vote shall suffice for adoption thereof, subject to final approval by the director of Student Activities.
